bright and dark

I thought my new sunny decorating desires wanted new furniture, too--lighter furniture. But today's Oh Joy post gives my cherry furniture bright hopes :).

I too have been leaning towards buttery yellows with bits of daffadil yellow and tomato red as well as crisp greens against dark chocolate browns and steel blue...in my dreams of course because you need a house of your own to decorate and money to buy furninture that matches. Someday, says I, my time will come.

I love dark furniture, it looks so formal and classic and seems to match everything. Unfortunately, it also shows the dust. Oh, well, I guess it just reminds me to dust. I love the secretary!
